A Catwalk for Cars
A catwalk for cars – why not? In the fiercely competitive world of car sales, one brand shone out from the crowd at the 2013 North America International Automobile Show (NAIAS) held in Detroit, Michigan in January. John Crisanti, Account Manager in the Americas region, for Lucite International recently shared the story of how General Motors opted for LuciteLux® LGP to add light and glamour to their showcase for Cadillac at this prestigious show.
John said: ‘As one of the US’ most popular, luxury vehicle brands Cadillac is known for pushing the realms of quality and creativity when it comes to launching new models into the market place, and this year was no exception. Its stand design and fabrication company, Czarnowski, came up with a scheme featuring a 22′ (6.7m) wide runway, which they wanted to edge light with multi-coloured LEDs and our product offered them the perfect solution.
“High light transmittance and the superior performance characteristics of LuciteLux® LGP as well as readily available local inventory, which meant fast delivery, were really important factors in us winning this business. However, technical and sales support and all round service from the team were all essential for us to achieve delivery against the tight time-scales that our clients were working to.”
The Cadillac show-space featured edge-lit flooring extending through to a vertical display, which essentially created a catwalk – or runway – for the launch of their new model. The NAIAS installation represents another new and innovative use of LuciteLux® acrylic in the retail display sector.
