Lucite International celebrates 1st anniversary of the Alpha 1 ground-breaking

Alpha (Singapore) ConstructionOne year on from the official ground-breaking ceremony at Lucite International's Alpha 1 site in Singapore and the Company is delighted to announce excellent progress against a schedule that will see the construction phase complete in Q2 2008.

The significant achievements to date include; 830,000 man hours completed without a classified injury, all major foundations completed, 90% of construction contracts let and 33 employees successfully recruited into the new Lucite International Singapore (LISPL) organisation.In addition, 3262 piles have been driven, 1350 tonnes of steel erected and 8500m3 of concrete poured as part of the construction schedule. General Manager of LISPL, Nick Cordingley comments: "Our achievements have been delivered through the hard work and dedication of many employees at Lucite International, Foster Wheeler and their contractors.Our top priority going forward must be to maintain the excellent SHE performance and to ensure that the plant is designed and constructed to the level of quality that will ensure a successful and incident free start up."
