The Royal Academy of Engineering MacRobert Award Finalist8 Jun 2010 Southampton, UK Lucite International’s ALPHA technology was one of four top engineering innovations selected from more than 80 entrants as a finalist for the UK's most prestigious engineering prize - The Royal Academy of Engineering MacRobert Award. The award, which was first given in 1969, recognises the successful development of innovative ideas in engineering and aims to demonstrate the important contribution engineers and scientists make to national prosperity and international progress. Ben Harris, who led Lucite International’s entry, attended the award ceremony at London’s Guildhall on 7 June 2010. He said: “The team was very proud to have been recognised at this level. We faced extremely tough competition from a diverse range entries from other sectors and it was an honour to have taken part and to have got so far.”
